Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies Kairawan uses and why. We aim to use as few as possible, all functional, none for advertising or cross-site tracking.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences and authenticate your session.
2. Cookies We Set
Functional Cookies (always enabled)
- Session cookie — remembers your login state if you are signed in to contribute or save searches. Expires when you close your browser, or after 30 days if you check "Remember me".
- Language preference — remembers which of the eight site languages (English, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Persian, Turkish) you have selected. Persists for one year.
- CSRF token — protects forms from cross-site request forgery. Short-lived, expires within the session.
3. Cookies We Do NOT Set
- No advertising cookies of any kind.
- No third-party tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, etc.).
- No analytics scripts that profile you across sites (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, etc.).
- No social-media widgets that drop cookies (Twitter follow buttons, etc.).
4. How to Control Cookies
Because we use only functional cookies (required for the site to operate), there is no consent banner to dismiss. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so will sign you out and reset your language preference, but the site will otherwise function normally.
5. Browser Do-Not-Track
We honor browser Do-Not-Track signals. Because we do not track users in the first place, the signal has no additional effect on our processing.
